Being bloated after eating is not normal, is your body trying to tell you something

Until a couple of years ago I lived bloated and with belly pain every single day.

The truth is there are so many things we consider normal about the way we feel that because we've always felt that way we never take the time to find out what is really happening.

For me this carried on for more than 20 years. I remember I used to carry medication in my purse because I had a constant feeling of discomfort and pain and I even once ended up in the emergency room because the pain was just to much to handle.

You would think this would be a wake up call but at the time I just didn't know what was going on. I just felt this way, I always had and not even the doctors gave me a proper explanation at the time. Some time after that things started to click, I realised not everybody felt this way and I began to think what could I do to feel better.

I found this doctor who helped me a lot to have more awareness of my body and taught me to listen what it wants to say to me. What I've learnt is that leaving aside our feminine days you should never bloat or feel a heavy belly after you eat.

How to discover what bloats you?

Your intuition knows. Take out a suspicious food you think might be bad for you one at a time for at least a week and see how you feel. If you feel bloated that week it means that food wasn't the problem or there is something else that's not good for you. You can keep testing and when you feel better you can start reintroducing foods to your diet.

For example I discovered I shouldn't eat peanuts, soybeans, carbonated drinks and almost all food with preservatives. After discovering this, my life literally changed and that was the moment when I discovered that being bloated is not normal at all, if you eat what is good for your body (which is different for everyone, there are just some foods like dairy and gluten that you may be more likely to be sensitive to).

For me now being bloated is a thing of the past. I hope this helps you overcome it too.
